What is Boscov’s Travel and why should I book my honeymoon with them?
Boscov's Travel was founded and incorporated in April of 1974 as part of Boscov's Department Stores, Inc.  The Corporation is owned by Albert and Eunice Boscov and Edwin and Alma Lakin.  The corporation is split up into three parts; Leisure, Business, and Group/Convention/Meeting Travel

Unlike online travel booking engines, we put our 30+ years of travel planning experience at your disposal, helping you to plan the honeymoon you’ve always dreamed of.  Just tell us what you want out of your honeymoon and we go to work finding the destination that best fits you.  Best of all, when you travel with us, you have the security and quality of the Boscov’s name with you at all times.

What do you specialize in?
Although we here at Boscov’s Travel are well versed in all types of travel, we also specialize in honeymoons.  Whether it be a honeymoon to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Orlando, Europe, Africa, The Orient, a cruise, a destination wedding, or somewhere right in your own backyard; we are the ones to help you make it happen.

Where are you located?
We currently have 28 locations spread throughout Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.  For the location nearest you, please click here.

Do I need an appointment?
You do not need an appointment to speak with a Boscov's Travel Consultant, although making an appointment is recommended to ensure that you don't have to wait. Stop in to any Boscov's Travel or call the Boscov’s Travel location near you for business hours.

Where can I obtain a passport?
This U.S. State Department site allows you to download passport applications, find your nearest passport office and foreign entry requirements. Ritz Camera (located inside Boscov's Department Store) can take your passport photo.

All this planning is a bit overwhelming; where do I start?
The best way to start planning your honeymoon is by visiting your local Boscov’s Travel.  Simply tell your Consultant what you want to get out of your honeymoon.  We then go to work for you, finding the destination that best matches your needs and budget.  After that, we handle all the planning details, allowing you to focus on your wedding.  It’s that easy.

What types of honeymoon destinations are available?
The list of honeymoon destinations available is un-ending.  We can send you anywhere you can think of (as well as some places you may not even have considered).  For a list of popular honeymoon destinations, you can look through our Honeymoon Destination Guide.

When should I start planning my honeymoon?
Begin planning your honeymoon at least four months in advance.  If possible, it is preferable to plan your honeymoon eight months to a year in advance.  By doing this, you will have more options and a better chance at getting the best rate.  This also gives you more time to save up money for your trip if you find that your honeymoon will cost more than you anticipated.

How do I register my honeymoon?
The Boscov's Travel Honeymoon Registry is free with the purchase of a honeymoon, unlike some other registries.  To register, plan your special vacation with a Boscov’s Travel Consultant and place a deposit.  Let your Travel Consultant know that you would like to participate in the Gift of Travel program.  A Web Page will then be created, featuring a personal message from you, with your honeymoon information and instructions for family and friends on how to contribute.  Other Honeymoon Registry inclusions are as follows:

  • Honeymoon Registry Announcement Cards that your family and friends can place in your shower invitations.
  • A List of Contributors so you can easily manage your “thank you” cards.
  • A Free Gift from Boscov’s Travel as our way of saying, “thank you!”

How do my guests contribute to my registry and what amount can they give?
Contributions to your honeymoon can be made in any amount.  To contribute, all your guests have to do is visit your Honeymoon Registry Gift of Travel website.  Instructions for contributing can be found there.

What happens if insufficient money gets contributed?
If not enough money has been contributed to your registry, then any additional money due is the responsibility of the traveler(s). All payment deadlines must be followed, along with any other supplier terms and conditions.

What happens if we have money left over?
If there is a surplus or funds, you can use them towards auxiliary services for your vacation (i.e. send-off hotel package, limo, insurance, optional tours) or keep the travel certificates to use toward your vacation expenses.  If you prefer, you can request a check for the surplus amount. Please advice your Boscov’s Travel Consultant of your preference.

What happens if I have to cancel my trip?
If the trip is cancelled, you will be given any remaining travel gift certificates after all cancellation fees have been applied. These travel gift certificates can be applied toward a future trip.

What is a destination wedding?
A destination wedding is when you travel to a special place for your wedding. It might be just the two of you, or you may want to include a group of friends and family. It's an appealing option if you want to do something different.  Destination weddings are growing in popularity.

What are popular destination wedding locations?
Some popular destination wedding locations are the Caribbean, Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, and Cozumel.

Aren’t destination weddings expensive?
It is true that destination weddings can be expensive, but they don’t have to be.  Destination weddings can be taken inside the U.S. to more affordable locations, such as Orlando, The Pocono's, Cape Cod, and Las Vegas.

What kind of documentation do I need for a destination wedding?
The documents you may need for marriages abroad are:

  • An affidavit from a Solicitor confirming that you are both free to marry.
  • Marriage License from the country you will be getting married in.
  • Your passports.
  • Your birth certificates.
  • Registration form
  • If applicable, a previous marriage certificate/decree absolute
  • If adopted, an adoption certificate
  • If under 18, a letter of consent from a parent or guardian
  • Proof is required if you have changed your name by deed poll
